What We Do Not Take On
We fix garage doors, not garages. If a door's track is twisted, a torsion spring has let go, or an opener has quit, that's our work. What we don't do is structural carpentry, concrete work, or drywall repair around the opening - if your header or jamb has rotted or shifted, you need a framing contractor before you need us, and we'll tell you that straight instead of billing for it.
We also won't try to sell you a new door when a cable, roller, or hinge repair gets the job done. A lot of the housing stock in this area dates from 1938 through 2003, with median construction around 1989, and the doors and openers from that era can usually be kept running with parts replacement rather than full teardown. If a door is genuinely past its service life - rusted track, a cracked panel, an opener motor that's seized for good - we'll say so, but we don't start there.
One honest limit: we don't stock every opener logic board or every panel style on the truck. Some older or less common models need a part ordered in, and we'll tell you that up front on the call rather than after we've shown up.

Plain Answers
Call 775-206-0298 and you'll talk to someone who can tell you, before a truck ever leaves, roughly what's wrong based on what the door is doing - grinding, not closing, opener clicking but not moving, cable off the drum. That matters here because homes built in the 1980s and 90s, which make up most of the stock in this area, often still run original torsion hardware that needs a specific spring size and drum setup, and getting that right on the phone saves a wasted trip.
We work on torsion and extension springs, openers, tracks, cables, rollers, and panel sections. We don't do custom door fabrication or fancy smart-home integration beyond what the opener itself supports.
Winters here sit in a cold, severe climate band, and that affects garage doors directly - steel contracts, lubricant thickens, and openers that were sluggish in October can stop working outright once temperatures drop. If your door is slow to close or the opener strains in cold weather, that's often a lubrication and balance issue we can address on a single visit rather than a sign the opener is dying.
What we find
Where We Work
Our address is 5050 Vista Blvd, Sparks, NV 89436, and we work calls from there out across the surrounding area. That covers Sun Valley about 4 miles out, Spanish Springs around 6 miles, Mira Loma roughly 6 miles to the south-southwest, Virginia Foothills about 12 miles south, and the farther stretches toward Verdi at 15 miles, Cold Springs at 16, and Virginia City at 19.
Across this service area there are roughly 18,039 households, with about 11,782 of those owner-occupied houses - the kind of single-family garage setups we spend most of our time on. Median household income here runs around $102,625, which tends to mean owners replace worn opener logic boards and springs rather than let a door sit broken, and we price jobs with that in mind.
If you're outside the areas listed above, call anyway - distance alone doesn't always rule out a visit, and it's easier to tell you yes or no on the phone than to guess from a map.
Questions
Common questions
What's the fastest way to reach you?
Call 775-206-0298. Describe what the door is doing - won't open, opener runs but door doesn't move, loud bang followed by the door freezing - and we can usually tell you what's likely wrong and what a visit will involve before anyone drives out.
Do you work on older garage doors?
Yes. A lot of homes in this area were built between 1938 and 2003, with most in the 1980s and 90s, and original torsion hardware from that era is common. We carry parts for that generation of door and opener and can usually repair rather than replace.
Will cold weather make my garage door problem worse?
It can. This area sits in a cold, severe climate band, and low temperatures thicken lubricant and make steel springs and tracks stiffer, which shows up as slow closing or an opener that strains. Often it's a balance and lube fix, not a failing opener.
Do you serve areas outside Sparks proper?
We work out from 5050 Vista Blvd and regularly cover Sun Valley, Spanish Springs, Mira Loma, Virginia Foothills, and out to Verdi, Cold Springs, and Virginia City. If you're further out, call and we'll tell you plainly whether we can get to you.
